Anastasis: Zorba Yoga
Anastasis is a certified Hatha Yoga teacher & massage therapist (osteo-thai). Formerly a professional dancer (ballet & contemporary), he toured the world as a dancer for 15 years. He began his Yoga journey in 1994 in Varanasi (India). He studied Hatha, Ashtanga and Anusara Yoga in India, America and Thailand. Since 2001, Anastasis has been teaching regular classes in Chania (Greece) & workshops and festivals in South-East Asia ( Bali, Laos) and in Europe (Germany, UK, Switzerland, Spain) and Turkey, Slovenia, USA and Russia.
Anastasis’ teaching is a synthesis of traditions with the fluidity, beauty & grace of the dancer, determination and grounding of Martial Arts and the spirit and expression of 'Zorba the Greek' - generosity, creativity, joy and freedom. |
Anastasis has a creative, vinyasa freestyle form of teaching that is meditative, therapeutic and ritualistic.
Friday 28th April 2017 6-8.30pm: Introduction to 'Zorba Yoga' with Anastasis: a personal approach to freestyle vinyasa yoga with the spirit of 'Zorba the Greek'. Saturday 29th April 2017: The Song of the Body 10am-12noon with Daniel Petkoff (M.Ost) anatomy & physiology: muscle, the dynamic structural tissue. 1-4pm with Anastasis: the alchemy of dynamic flow with contemplative stillness; and Dao-Yin / Kapalabati Pranayama, the marriage of Indian and Chinese traditions. A calming, meditative and therapeutic practice, working on meridians and healing the internal organs. Sunday 30th April 2017: Yoga a Sacred Dance 10am-12noon with Dr Matthew Clark: the practices and concepts of Tantra 1-4pm with Anastasis: a deep and healing practice adopting circular and spiral movements in the same way the universe moves; and Dao-Yin / Kapalabti Pranayama. |
